Learn as if you were going to live forever. Live as if you were going to die tomorrow.Mahatma Gandhi

This memorial website was created to remember our dearest Cheyenne Whitaker who was born in Boston,Massachusetts on December 23, 1981 and passed away on March 18, 2007 at the age of 25. You will live forever in our memories and hearts.

Oh Cheyenne...so sweet from the moment you came into my life. So beautiful. A sweet little face admired by all. A gorgeous mix of West Indian from Dad, caucasian from Mom, with a dash of Chinese thrown in from Grand Dad. Just to spice it up a bit! You had the most exotic look, and only became more handsome with time. Crazy wild beautiful hair, long Dreads tied back ..so cool. You were a natural. A bit of Cayman. You always had the Islands within you. A lover of water and waves, surf and surfer, beach and beach artist..that was you in Summer.

A Joy to be with, always surrounded by friends and the loves of your Life. You grew up on the beach with your beach pals, seeing who was the best on the boogie board. I sure do miss those summers. A great joy to Mom, a great teacher to your brother and sister.we were always so blessed to have you in our lives.

Then came Fall;full of colored leaves, crisp cool air, long days of just you and me picking up wet leaves from the edges of the ponds, crunching around in the fallen leaves in the New Hampshire woods. We had a special place there behind some new construction, wishing we lived there, gathering the white barked birch logs to bring home for our wood stove. Those were the best of times; us in our plaid shirts jumping over hidden streams...seeing what Mother Nature had to offer. We always came home with a car full of pinecones, kindling, scrap wood, pictures and happy memories.

Winter was your favorite season, I guess. You were born then and were right at home in the snow, once you learned to keep your mittens on! We loved Christmas together, but your Birthday was equally as important, coming just two days before the holiday. You always thought of it as a continuous party; starting on the 23rd and going right thru the 25th! You had tons of presents, as early on your Mom found which stores had Lay-Away and started shopping early with you in mind! You began cross-country skiing at age seven, taking to it like a duck to water. Of course Mom was always there with the camera snapping milestones in your life. At age 5 the twins came along, and suddenly you had a brother and sister! You were so excited and were a big help to Mom entertaining them. You loved to build with your wooden building blocks, and Mom swore you made the most magical artistic buildings. I knew someday you might go on to be an architect! You would play Lego's with your bestest friend, Evan, who had every imaginable Lego set that came down the pike! The Pirate Ship was a big hit, especially with the G.I. Joes on board. You two would play contendedly for hours, letting your imaginations and creativity run wild!! As it turned out, you did not become the Architect, but rather fell in love with Petra , the Architect, during your travels abroad. You went on to become the glass blower, honoring your creative artistic side that I had seen in you as a child.
